KJHL action in the 2017 portion of the season started off on Tuesday night as the North Winnipeg Satelites played host to the Arborg Ice Dawgs.

Arborg 2 - North Winnipeg 0

Matt Lameroux and Colton Davies scored the Ice Dawgs goals, while Ryan Pochailo led the team with 2 helpers.  Dylan Ossachuk stopped all 27 shots he faced in the game to earn the shutout win.

No Satelites' player found the back of the net, however Wyatt Emes stopped 41 of the 43 shots he faced in the game.

The next action was Thursday night, as the OCN Storm played host to the Norway House North Stars.

OCN 9 - Norway House 5

The Storm offence was led by both Harold Linklater & Tony Apetagon, who both scored twice and added 3 assists.  Aavory Wilkie added a goal and 2 assists.  Brandon Sinclair-Martin, Austin Caza and Micheal Markus all ended the game with 2 points.  Ron Fiddler faced 26 shots in the game, stopping 21 of them.

Versus Chartier led the North Stars with a goal and an assist.  Jesse Muswagon dished out 2 helpers.  Brendan McLeod turned aside 29 of the 38 shots he faced.

Friday night had 3 games on the schedule.

Lundar 11 - Fisher River 3

The Falcons were led by Dennon Sichewski with 3 goals and an assist.  Landen Gray scored twice and tacked on 2 helpers, and Jack Clinton recorded 4 assists in the game. Jory Ross dished out 3 assists.  Craig Caine, Jason Nikkel & Taylor Radley all finished the game with 2 points.  Travis Rigden made 33 saves in the game to earn the win.

Brennan Cochrane continued to the Hawks, scoring twice in the game.  Jarrod Smith started the game for Fisher River, stopping 15 of the 20 shots he saw.  Nolan Favel came on in relief, making 23 saves on 29 shots.

St. Malo 4 - Selkirk 1

Jared Hunter scored twice and Kyle Fortin added a goal and assist to lead the Warriors.  David Allaire stopped 29 of the 30 shots to lead the Warriors to the victory.

Selkirk's lone goal was scored by Milan Horanski.  Riley Bannerman turned aside 31 of the 34 shots he faced.

Arborg 7 - Peguis 5

Arborg's offence was led by Spencer Kilbrei, who scored 4 times.  Derric Gulay added a goal and 3 assists.  Josh Boone, Aaron Kristjanson, Jordan Woytowich and Clint Torfason all finished with 2 points.  Dylan Ossachuk earned the win, making 27 saves.

The Juniors Romano Paul led with a goal and 2 assists.  Dylan Stevenson, Tyrome Spence-Bair and Quinton Flett all recorded 2 points.  Luke Penner faced 58 shots, making 51 saves.

Saturday night only had two games on the docket.

St. Malo 10 - OCN 6

The Warriors were led by Elmer Tabler with 3 goals and 2 assists.  Jared Magne added 2 goals & 3 assists of his own.  Riley Hunter scored twice and tacked on 1 assist.  Jordy Hill and Tyrel Bueckert both added 2 points.  Noah Fournier stopped 33 shots in the game for the win.

OCN's Rylan Bartley recorded 3 assists to lead the team.  Mitchell Tilley, Harold Linklater, Aavory Wilkie and Broady Personius all ended the game with 2 points.  Anthony Fontaine started the game, stopping 26 of the 32 shots he faced.  Ron Fiddler faced 14 shots and made 10 saves.

Norway House 6 - North Winnipeg 3

The North Stars were led by Harley Muminwatum, who scored 2 goals and added an assist.  Conley Spence recorded a single goal and 2 assists.  Ron Robertson and Clinton Apetagon both finished with 2 points.  Brendan McLeod faced 54 shots in the game, stopping 51 of them and earning the win.

North Winnipeg got single goals from Jesse McIntosh, Braden Zamrykut and Derek Ramage.  Wyatt Emes faced 40 shots in the game, making 34 saves.

Sunday's schedule had three matinees.

Selkirk 16 - OCN 5

Connor Spratt paced the Fishermen with 6 assists.  Milan Horanski scored 3 times and added 2 assists, while Dylan Painchaud-Niemi recorded 4 goals and an assist.  Both Griffin Steeves and Drayton Mendrun tacked on a goal and 3 assists.  Auzzie Loewen, Talon Kelly & Dane Derewianchuk all scored once and added 2 assists.  Harley Hoydalo & Coel Forsyth each added 2 points.  Travis Schalk faced 31 shots in the game, turning aside 26 of them to earn the win.

Harold Linklater led the Storm with 4 assists.  Brandon Sinclair-Martin, Mitchell Tilley, Aavory Wilkie & Tony Apetagon all ended the game with 2 assists.  Ron Fidder faced 12 shots in the game, making 8 saves.  Anthony Fontaine replaced him, facing 37 shots and making 25 saves.

Arborg 8 - Fisher River 2

The Ice Dawgs offence was led by Spencer Kilbrei, who scored 2 goals and added an assist.  Braydon Chwartacki scored once and added an assist & Ryan Pochailo dished out 2 helpers.  Nathan Friesen turned aside 41 shots in the game for the win.

Brennan Cochrane scored once & added an assist to lead the Hawks.  Nolan Favel faced 58 shots in the Fisher River goal.

North Winnipeg 10 - Cross Lake 5

Nathan Jones led the Satelies with a goal and 4 assists.  Parker Cassie, Sam Batt & Colin Yarchuk all scored 1 goal & recorded 2 assists.  Payton Boguski, Derek Ramage & Nico Lisi all finished with 2 points.  Wyatt Emes faced 35 shots in the game, stopping 30 of them for he win.

The Islanders' were led by Keith Monias with 2 goals and Brandon McKay, who scored a goal and dished out 1 assist.  Tory Monias stopped 30 shots in the game.

Upcoming action in the KJHL begins on Tuesday night as the Lundar Falcons head to Mosienko to play the Satelites.  Play continues Thursday night when the Cross Lake Islanders play host to the Norway House North Stars and St. Malo hosts Lundar.   Friday evening has two games on the schedule as Peguis and Fisher River clash and Selkirk heads to Arborg.  Saturday night pits the St. Malo Warriors in Cross Lake and the North Winnipeg Satelites head to OCN.  Sunday sees eight of the ten teams in action: St. Malo is in Norway House, Lundar is in Arborg, Peguis hosts North Winnipeg and OCN sees Fisher River head North.
