Play began in the 10th week of KJHL on Wednesday night, as the Cross Lake Islanders played host to the Norway House North Stars.
Cross Lake 13 - Norway House 0
The Islanders were led by Keith Monias, who scored 4 times and added 2 assists. Tyler Monias chipped in with 3 goals and 3 assists. Tyrell Armstrong dished out 4 helpers in the game. Damian Ross, Treymian Trout and Justin Dorion all finished with 2 points. Tory Monias stopped all 24 shots thrown his way for the shutout win.
No North Star found the net, however Brendan McLeod faced 45 shots in the game, stopping 32 of them.
The next action of the week was on Friday, as the Selkirk Fishermen hosted the St. Malo Warriors in a South division rivalry, and OCN Storm travelled to Norway House.
St. Malo 5 - Selkirk 1
Jared Hunter led the Warriors with a goal and 2 assists. Jordy Hill added 2 goals of his own, and Mark Nelson recorded 2 assists. David Allaire was nearly perfect in the game, stopping all but one of the 36 shots he faced for the win.
Gordie Longbottom scored the lone Fishermen goal. Riley Bannerman stopped 24 of the 29 shots he faced.
OCN 8 - Norway House 4
The Storm got a goal and 3 assists from Harold Linklater. Austin Caza added 2 goals and an assist and Rylan Bartley chipped in with a goal and 2 assists. Broady Personius, Devon Tobacco & Tony Apetagon all got on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist. Anthony Fontaine faced 29 shots in the game, stopping 25 of them for the win.
Norway House saw Kashtin Ducharme & Harley Muminawatum both record a goal and an assist each. Brendan McLeod turned aside 64 of the 72 shots sent his way.

Arborg 8 - Cross Lake 2
The Ice Dawgs got a hat trick and an assist from Spencer Kilbrei, while Colton Davies got in on the act with a goal and 3 assists. Clint Torfason added 3 assists to his total. Josh Boone & Jordan Woytowich both finished with 2 points. Dylan Ossachuk faced 67 shots in the game, stopping 65 of them for the win.
Cross Lake got a goal and an assist from Keith Monias. Tie Braun dished out 2 assists. Kris Wood-Ross turned aside 57 of the 65 shots sent his way in goal.
St. Malo 12 - Fisher River 3
The Warriors got a balanced attack this game, led by Riley Hunter with 3 goals and 3 assists. Jared Magne & Jared Hunter both finished with a goal and 2 assists. Jonathan Kostek, Brett Jocelyn, Dustin Wiebe and Tyrel Bueckert all ended the game with 2 points. Alec St. Georges stopped 42 of the 45 shots he faced for the win.
Fisher River's Brennan Cochrane scored twice, while Macrae Sinclair added 2 assists. Jarrod Smith started the game, stopping 15 of the 19 shots he faced. Nolan Favel relieved him and made 21 saves on 29 shots.
OCN 11 - Lundar 4
The Storm's offence was led by Camacho Lathlin with 2 goals and 4 assists. Both Rylan Bartley & Harold Linklater each scored 2 goals and 2 assists, while Micheal Markus finished with 3 goals and an assist. Devon Tobacco and Tony Apetagon each finished with 2 points. Ron Fiddler Jr stopped 14 of the 18 shots he faced for the win.
Landen Gray continued to lead the Falcons, pacing them with 3 assists in this game. Craig Weiss, Lance Laycock, Bryan Carvalho & Shayne Desjarlais all scored once. Travis Rigden faced 41 shots, stopping 30 of them.
The week closed on Sunday with 3 more games on the schedule.
Arborg 13 - Norway House 0
Clint Torfason led the Ice Dawgs with 4 goals and 1 assist, while Cal Finnson chipped in with 2 goals and 3 assists. Colton Davies recorded 5 helpers in the game. Ryan Pochailo, Jordan Kristjanson & Corbin Pasternak all finished with 3 points. Ending up on the score sheet twice, was Josh Boone, Dylan Furgala, Karson Collins and Spencer Kilbrei. Nathan Friesen finished with a 21 save shutout performance.
The North Stars struggled to get on the score sheet, but Brendan McLeod made 54 saves in the game for his team.
Selkirk 8 - North Winnipeg 1
The Fishermen offence came alive as they were led by Coel Forsyth who scored a hat trick and added an assist. Both Talon Kelly & Milan Horanski each finished with a goal and an assist, while Harley Hoydalo, Dawson Courchene, Dane Derewianchuk and Drayton Mendrun all finished with 2 assists. Travis Schalk stopped all but one of the 20 shots he faced to earn the win.
North Winnipeg's goal was scored by Sam Batt. Derick Vinsky turned aside 36 of the 44 shots he faced in the game.
Peguis 5 - Lundar 4
The Juniors offence came off the stick of Dylan Stevenson, who led the team with 2 goals. Tristan Slater & Tyrome Spence-Bair both recorded 2 assists. Luke Penner was solid in goal, stopping 34 of the 38 shots he faced to earn the victory.
Lundar saw their offence spread around, with Landen Gray scoring twice, and Brody Southby adding a goal and an assist. Shayne Desjarlais and Taylor Radley both added 2 helpers. Braydon Weatherburn stopped 34 of 39 shots.
The last full week of play before Christmas will begin on Wednesday night as the Cross Lake Islanders head to Norway House. Thursday sees the Arborg Ice Dawgs play host to the Peguis Juniors. FridaySaturday and Sunday are all busy, with 3 games per night. On Friday, the North Winnipeg Satelites head to Fisher River, Lundar hosts the Norway House North Stars and St. Malo hosts Cross Lake. Saturdaysees Cross Lake head to Arborg, Peguis is in OCN and Norway House stops in Selkirk. Sunday's schedule has Peguis playing the second of their back-to-back against OCN, Lundar is in Selkirk and Arborg heads to Fisher River.
After that week, there are still a few games before and after Christmas before the KJHL closes out the 2016 portion of the season.
