Once the Survivor Series was complete & Arborg advanced, the Divisional Semi-Finals were able to get going.
The South Division saw the Selkirk Fishermen play host to the Arborg Ice Dawgs.
Game 1: Selkirk 3 – Arborg 2
Selkirk saw Jeremy Pachkowsky, Corbin Pasternak & Drayton Mendrun all score single goals. Jordan Liske stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced.
Arborg’s Spencer Kilbrei & Jesse Chupka both had 2 assists. Jon Narverud made 41 saves on 44 shots.
Game 2: Selkirk 4 – Arborg 3
Nigel Hoydalo led the Fishermen with 3 assists. Karl Fey, Jeremy Pachkowsky, Talon Kelly & Scott Thomas all scored single goals. Riley Bannerman made 31 saves on 34 shots.
Arborg got single goals from Ryan Pochailo, Clint Torfason & Travis Kilbrei. Jon Narverud stopped 50 of the 54 shots he faced.
Game 3: Selkirk 8 – Arborg 1
Griffin Steeves & Drayton Mendrun both scored twice and added an assist. Milan Horanski scored 1 goal & tacked on 2 assists. Jordan Liske made 24 saves on 25 shots.
Arborg’s lone goal was scored by Clint Torfason. Jon Narverud made 39 saves on 47 shots.
Selkirk wins series 3-0.
In the other South Division series, the Lundar Falcons played the St. Malo Warriors.
Game 1: Lundar 9 – St. Malo 3
Lundar was led by Bryce Horning with 4 goals & an assist. Jason Nikkel recorded a hat trick & an assist. Landen Gray scored once and dished out 3 assists. Travis Rigden stopped 21 of the 24 shots he faced.
Jared Magne scored twice for St. Malo. Ben Olson added 1 goal & 1 assist. Jordan Taylor started the game, stopping 13 of the 18 shots he faced. Noah Fournier relieved him, making 8 saves on 11 shots.
Game 2: St. Malo 6 – Lundar 4
Bryden Johnson & Jonathan Kostek led the Warriors with 2 goals and an assist each. Jordan Taylor turned aside 24 of the 28 shots he saw.
Jason Nikkel scored 2 goals for Lundar, while Brandon Worthing added a goal and an assist. Jarrod Smith made 24 saves on 29 shots.
Game 3: St. Malo 6 – Lundar 5 (OT)
St. Malo was led by Jared Magne with 2 goals. Both Riley Hunter & Bryden Johnson scored a goal & added an assist. Jeff Froese & Jordy Hill had 2 assists. Jordan Taylor started the game, allowing 1 goal on 2 shots. Noah Fournier replaced him and stopped 28 of 32 shots.
Breyden Turner paced the Falcons with 2 goals and an assist. Bryce Horning added 2 assists. Nick Lewis made 46 saves on 52 shots.
Game 4: Lundar 2 – St. Malo 0
Breyden Turner led the Falcons with 1 goal & 1 assist. Brenden Carlson scored the other Falcon goal. Nick Lewis stopped all 33 shots he faced.
No Warrior scored in the game. Jordan Taylor faced 28 shots, stopping 26 of them.
Game 5: St. Malo 5 – Lundar 2
Chase Fincaryk led the Warriors with 1 goal and 2 assists. Jared Magne added a goal and an assist. Jordan Taylor stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
Jason Nikkel & Bryce Horning scored single goals each for Lundar. Nick Lewis stopped 32 of the 36 shots thrown his way.
St. Malo wins the series 3-2.
Selkirk & St. Malo will meet for the South Division title. Check the schedule and playoff bracket for game times and locations. It will be a Best of 7 matchup, with the winner facing the North Division winner for the KJHL Championship.
